Over the last fifteen years, Peter Feinmann has found Mindfulness Meditation instrumental to running, maintaining, and growing his home remodeling business.
“Through practicing Mindfulness Meditation, I have become less reactive with the daily stresses of running a business, which has helped me better serve my clients and staff.”
Peter Feinmann
As a lifelong learner and often worried in response to stress, Peter was drawn towards Mindfulness Meditation. He hoped it would decrease his reactiveness and improve his communication style when confronted with challenging work situations.
In the beginning, Peter tried out meditation several times but found it a daunting task to quiet his mind. His perspective shifted when he came across Mindfulness Meditation, which instructed him to watch his mind from a compassionate viewpoint instead of just quieting his thoughts. For Peter, this practice felt like a more achievable goal, which pushed him to participate in a five-day silent meditation retreat in 2008. Initially, Peter did not think he could stay quiet for this long, but he surprised himself. Since this retreat, Peter has attended a number of silent retreats and practices sitting for 20 minutes a day, watching his busy and active mind.
To further his education, Peter enrolled in a Mindfulness Meditation Teaching Certification Program taught by renowned teachers, Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. He graduated from this two-year program in January 2021 with a certificate to teach Mindfulness Meditation. Peter believes that if someone like him could learn to meditate, then it is possible for anyone.
